Thanks to Shaun Reynolds for introducing us to Milky Way photography at our last meeting. He covered everything from looking at Stellarium to find which way to look, all the camera settings you would need, and how to process your files afterwards to get the most from your shots. Superb!
We have booked some exciting speakers for the start of 2021, whether you’re interested in the North/South Poles, or photography closer to home, we’ve got something for you. Check out our Calendar page.
We had a fascinating talk from Chris Bell on the subject of weather and storm chasing. Thankfully our weather (in spite of the recent storms) is nothing compared to where Chris was born in Texas USA where hurricanes and tornados are frequent. Follow Chris here on Twitter.
During our exhibition at the start of November, we collected cameras to donate to the charity Give a Child a Camera. Setup in 2015 by local photographer Julian Claxton, Give a Child a Camera empowers young Ugandan children to tell a story of their life through photography. We received digital and film cameras, some new, some very old. Thank you to all who donated!
At the start of November, we held our annual exhibition and our members printed and mounted over 200 photos to display. Our invited EAF judge David Saunders chose his favourites, and so did the public. To see the full results have a look at the Exhibition page.
